Bye Bye to Body Hair

Bye Bye to Body Hair

Body hair can be a daunting topic to discuss, but there is always a solution to any hairy situation. It’s one thing to talk about that pesky bikini line or shaving your legs, but it’s less common for women to talk about the other areas of the body that have hair. Although it may be embarrassing, areas of the stomach, back, hands, and arms can also have excess hair, and although you might find it slightly uncomfortable, there are numerous ways to easily remove those hairs.

For most areas, you can use wax, depilatory creams, tweezers, or a razor, but essentially, it’s about what’s best for you.

Back Hair

As one of the quickest ways to remove body hair, it can be tempting to turn to shaving. But, with one of the quickest rates of regrowth, this isn’t always the best option[1]. By cutting hair at the surface of the skin it can start to grow back in as little as two days. Unfortunately, the shaving process would have to be continued on a regular basis in order to maintain your smooth skin. This can be inconvenient, especially in areas that are more difficult to reach.

Waxing, which removes body hair at the root, is a longer-term method of hair removal that can leave you hair-free for weeks at a time. Most salons and spas that offer waxing have back-waxing within their service selection. However, you can also achieve the same desired effect at home, but you may want to enlist the help of your trusted partner or friend for such a hard-to-reach area.

Hands and Fingers

Tweezing, although a very precise method of hair removal, can be quite time consuming. You could try Veet® Ready-to-Use Wax Strips, which are usually used to tackle small precise areas of the face, but could be ideal for unwanted hair in other small areas, such as the back of the fingers. However, if you’re only tackling a few nagging hairs then tweezing might be an effective method for you.

Arms

Arm hair is quite similar to hair on your legs, although usually softer. Depilatory creams are easy to use in these kinds of areas as you can smooth the cream on and see all the areas clearly. The cream dissolves the hair just below the surface of the skin, can work in as little as three minutes[2] and can be washed off in the shower. One thing to consider is that regrowth after a cream depilation process can sometimes appear coarser than the original hairs you’ve removed.[3] Therefore, if you are not too pain-sensitive, you may wish to consider waxing. With this method, hairs tend to grow back more sparsely and finely.

Stomach Hair (Not as uncommon as you think)

It’s not uncommon for women to have hair on their stomach. Hot wax is a great way to remove this kind of hair, leaving you confident and hair-free for weeks at a time. Hair also regrows finer over time, making the experience less uncomfortable the more you do it[4].

Choosing to remove body hair is completely up to you. Waxing can be quick and can give you up to four weeks of smooth skin, but Veet® offers many other solutions for hair removal. If you do decide to go down the hair-removal route, there are plenty of products available for your needs. It is important to take time and decide what’s best for you.
