How does waxing work?

Wax adheres to the hair shaft (and not the skin), which is then removed from the root by the mechanical action of removing the wax or fabric strip from the skin. Hair regrowth is soft to the touch and you will not need to depilate again for up to 4 weeks.

Is Waxing suitable for everyone?

Waxing is not suitable for the elderly or diabetics, and though suitable for pregnant women, may cause bruising. Certain areas of the body should only be waxed if you have previous waxing experience. How long should one wait before using VEET® after having shaved?

After waxing, hair can take up to 4 weeks to grow back, although hair growth is very individual, so timings vary. Hair should be between 2 and 5mm long as a minimum, depending on which VEET® product you are using.

No. We advise that you wait 24 hours before sunbathing.

How long can I keep the wax products?

There is no specific expiry date for wax products. As with all cosmetics unless stated on pack VEET® products can be used for a period of 3 years.

Why do I need waxing experience for my underarms and bikini line, but not for my legs?

Because the bikini line and underarms are more sensitive and challenging areas to wax than legs.

Why can't the wax come into contact with water?

Water will prevent proper adhesion of the wax.

Can both men and woman use wax products?

Yes.

Can antiperspirant be used after using the wax under my arms?

We advise waiting 24 hours after waxing before using an antiperspirant, any perfumed product or sunbathing.

I tried waxing once and had trouble getting the wax off! Is there an easy way to remove wax from the skin if it doesn't come off when you remove the strip or cloth?

Rinse thoroughly with water and if that does not work then use body oil, such as baby oil, to remove any excess left behind.

Where did the name VEET® come from? Does it have any connection to the product Neet Hair Remover?

It is a French brand/formula of depilatories with a heritage dating back 80 years. It is owned by the parent company Neet and has now replaced the Neet brand in the US.

When it has adhered completely and is at body temperature.

Why can't I heat the wax strip in the microwave?

It would not be safe to microwave the strip nor was the product designed to be used in such a manner.

How soon after using the wax strips can a shower or bath be taken? A swim?

There should be no problem with taking a shower, bath, or swim after use.
