How do VEET® Creams work?

VEET® creams are chemical depilatories that use an ingredient to dissolve the hair shaft. The mechanical action of removing the Cream using the spatula, Bladeless Kit tool, or sponge helps pull away the dissolved hair from the surface of the skin.

Are Creams suitable for everyone?

Creams can be used by everyone, including pregnant women, as long you follow the Precautions and Directions for Use. It is advisable for teenagers under 16 to be supervised by an adult when using any depilatory method.

Is it okay to sunbathe after using VEET® Creams?

No. We advise that you wait 24 hours before sunbathing.

How long can I keep VEET® Creams?

There is no specific expiration date for VEET® cream products. As with all cosmetics unless stated on pack VEET® products can be used for a period of 3 years.

How does VEET® Hair Removal Gel Creams work?

Like all cream or lotion depilatory products, VEET® Hair Removal Gel Creams work by using an ingredient to dissolve the hair in just 3 minutes (5 minutes for the Sensitive Formula product). The specially designed Perfect Touch spatula then enables quick, effective removal of the cream for a smooth and long-lasting finish.

How thick of a layer should be applied?

Apply VEET® Cream directly onto the skin with the spatula, spreading evenly to fully cover the hair.

For best hair removal results how long should hair growth be?

There is no requirement on how long the hair should be. However, please note that you should wait 72 hours between applications.

What is the best way to remove VEET® Hair Removal Gel Creams?

Use the spatula to remove most of the cream, then rinse skin thoroughly with water. Pat dry gently.

VEET® In-Shower Hair Removal Cream

Can I apply the new VEET® In-Shower Hair Removal Cream in the shower?

We recommend that you apply the product before getting into the shower so that you can ensure your skin is dry on application and that you achieve even coverage of the product before it comes into contact with water. Leave the product on your legs for just 1 minute, wash your hands thoroughly and then just jump in and shower as normal before removing after a further 2 minutes. Simple as that.

Won’t the cream wash away and stop working when I get into the shower?

The cream contains a special ingredient – the same as you get in some waterproof mascaras – which helps the product repel water and carry on working while you shower. You should avoid direct jets of water where you have applied the cream, as it will start to wash away.

If I wash my hair after applying the cream won’t it remove the hair on my head?!

Please always read instructions for use and precautions before using the product. It is essential that the hands are washed thoroughly after applying and removing the product before continuing with your normal shower routine.

What is the ingredient Thioglycolic Acid?

It is the ingredient, it is an antioxidant and depilating agent that is used in hair waving, hair straightening and hair removal.

Are all of the ingredients listed on the product label?

Yes.

What ingredient in the product actually removes the hair?

The thioglycolic acid and the potassium hydroxide react to generate potassium glycolate. This ingredient is the one that removes the hair.

Does this contain moisturizing agents?

Yes.

Does this product contain Almond or Almond Oil?

Yes, for Dry Skin Variant (62200-79843).

On the label for the Dry Skin variant (62200-79843) it doesn’t mention Almond, why not?

Prunus Amygdalus is Sweet Almond Oil – Canadian labeling does not require the common verbiage (Sweet Almond Oil) to be listed separately next to the ingredient, as done in U.S.

How long should I wait between each application before I use this again?

It recommended to wait a minimum of 72 hrs between product applications.

Why do I have to use the sponge for hair removal, can I use a washcloth?

The sponge is essential for optimum hair removal.

What is the difference with the two sides of the sponge?

Use the soft, colored side to apply the product and the white side to remove it. The soft, colored side is preferred for use on sensitive areas.

How thick a layer should be applied?

A thin layer that covers the hair completely should be enough.

Why do the directions say don’t rub cream in?

To allow the product do its work on the hair.

What is the best way to remove the VEET® cream?

The best way is to remove hair is after application; wait 1 minute before stepping into the shower. Make sure the cream stays on your skin for an additional 2 minutes, but not longer than 6 minutes of total application time. Use the white part of the sponge and massage in a circular motion, the soft colored side can be used for sensitive areas. Rinse your skin thoroughly under the shower after use.

If all the hair is not removed, can the product be reapplied immediately?

It is recommended to wait at least 72 hrs. For better results next time allow product to work for its maximum time of 6 min.

When testing before use, should the area that the product is going to be used-on be the area that is tested?

Yes.

How long after applying soap must I wait to use the VEET® Hair Remover?

Using soap prior to depilation should be fine as long as the area is totally rinsed and freed from any residue.

If I remove the VEET® while I’m taking a shower, is it safe to use soap on the area?

It is recommended NOT TO USE soap after a depilatory application.

Why can’t I use soap after depilation?

We do not recommend using soap after depilation due to the pH of the soap and the potential for irritation.

VEET® Lotion Hair Removers

Does this contain moisturizing agents?

Yes.

I ran out of VEET® lotion. Can I continue the process with VEET® cream? What about a different hair depilatory product?

Different types of products have different use directions. Before using the second product, please make sure a patch test has been performed and directions are followed carefully. Please note that the efficacy time varies by product form (creams - ~5-7 min., lotions - ~5-10 min).

How long should I wait between each application before I use this again?

It recommended to wait a minimum of 48 hours between product applications.
