Here are my celeb style do’s and don’ts for a big date:

	Do try this season’s mini. Minis come in many shapes and sizes – go for a bubble hem or a breezy flowing hem line for day and try slim and short for night. For daytime, pair your mini with a sweet flat or boots. Wear with a belted topper coat or cropped jacket during the day.
	Do take your mini into the night by adding some inches – this season it’s all about legs in platforms and wedges. Shoes are sky high … giving you more than a leg up!
	Don’t weigh yourself down with a big bag – carry a clutch bag. I love ones with grommets and beadwork because they catch the light.

	Do add shimmer when you can. Try silver eyeliner to brighten the corners of your eyes. Update your smoky eye by adding a full line of metallic under your black liner.
	Don’t forget, mascara is a must with any look. Be bold and try a blue mascara just on the tips of your lashes.
	Do choose a bright lip stain. It can double as a blush, using it on the apple of your cheek. For lips, add a high shine dab of clear gloss in the center of your lip after you put on the stain.
	Do accessorize and mix materials. With metallic ensembles combine accessories that have natural elements of wood. When wearing bright colors, choose Lucite bangles and chunky necklaces.

Quick Tips to Get Out of The Door
There’s nothing worse than being late for work or taking too long to get ready for a date. But even when you’re in a rush, you can still look your best with these quick and easy beauty tips!

	In the shower, try a leave-in conditioner instead of waiting for regular conditioner to sink into hair and then washing out.
	Putting on body lotion can take a while—try a moisturizing body spray instead, which goes on fast and dries in seconds.
	Instead of applying liquid foundation on your whole face, spot-apply some concealer under your eyes and on any blemishes or imperfections. If you have a little more time, you can also swipe a bit of powder over your nose and cheeks.

		For a quick glow, pinch cheeks with your fingers instead of applying blush. Or use a cream-based blush that easily blends into skin.
		Skip the eye shadow and mascara, and just curl your lashes. A fast curl will be enough to keep your lashes perky and long throughout the day.
		As you run out the door, be sure to put on lipstick—avoid super-glossy kinds that don’t have much staying power. Try a lipstick with a satiny finish, which is easier to apply in a rush and stays on for hours.

What Should a Girl Do When the Bill Comes?

One of the first questions I ask my relationship clients is what exactly they’re looking for in a partner. And one of the most common answers I receive from men is... “independence.”

This isn’t your mother’s dating world. And it isn’t your grandmother’s dating world. This is 21st century dating, and guys today expect the women they meet to have their own lives, their own plans and their own ambitions.

They assume that the women they date will have careers, incomes and the freedom to make their own decisions and their own choices.

They believe that women should be paid like men... and they wonder whether they shouldn’t pay like men too.

When you’ve reached the stage of joint accounts and “for richer or poorer” none of this will matter. But on a first date, what you do when the waiter comes at the end of the meal will tell a guy whether he’s dating the sort of woman he always believed he’d meet... or someone who might be thinking about his bucks more than his biceps.

That’s why when the bill is on the table, the best move is to offer to split it. That will show your date that you see yourself as his equal, which is what my guy clients tell me they want in a relationship.

It doesn’t mean that you’ll have to pay because most men will still refuse.. Old habits die hard and men do want their dates to think of them as gentlemen.

But that leaves you with a golden opportunity. As he’s signing on the dotted line, you can show him again that you’re a modern girl by promising to pay for the next date.

The way he answers will tell you right away whether you’ll get the chance.
